Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary (SBNMS), one of 14 sites in the National Marine Sanctuary System under the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), needed 2 educational outreach exhibits with video theater presentations and take-away conservation publications.
We coordinated this 3 part endeavor assigning the key components to our team of CRG project managers. First, the exhibit concept was designed and approved by NOAAA and fabrication was completed. Next, CRG scripted, filmed and edited the educational video. Third, the academic publications were designed and printed.
CRG installed the new, high-tech exhibits at the Province Lands Visitor Center of Cape Cod National Seashore and another at the Halibut Point State Park in Rockport, Mass.. The exhibits, which feature a real-time display of ship tracks and videos about the Automatic Identification System (AIS) and how it is being used for whale conservation, are free and open seasonally.
The exhibits at the Province Lands Visitor Center and the Halibut Point State Park are focal points drawing interest locally and internationally. SBNMS and CRG ultimately won Telly Awards for the video “A Sanctuary Worth Protecting.”
